Second Annual Flow for Water Class

with Calvin Darling

Benefits The Samburu Project

Saturday, April 1, 2023
10:30am – 12 noon
1022 Forest Ave. Palo Alto, CA and Online

Water changes everything. The Samburu Water Project’s mission is to provide access to clean water to the communities of Samburu, Kenya and support those communities with initiatives that promote health, education, women’s empowerment, and general well being. Since 2005 the Samburu Project has drilled 137 wells, bringing safe drinking water to over 100,000 people. This has been a very difficult year for Kenya given the effects of severe drought and food shortages resulting from the war in Ukraine. Out help is needed more than ever.

Registration and further details are at the Samburu Project website. The class will be in-person and online virtually on Zoom. If you plan to attend in-person, please RSVP ASAP as the class size is limited to 25. The class is free. You do not need to make a donation in order to attend.  That is up to you. Conversely, you do not need to attend the class in order to make a donation. If you can’t attend, but would like to make a donation, follow the registration link below, but choose “donation" rather than “RSVP”.

The Power of the Yoga Mat

Benefitting Give Back Yoga Foundation

Sunday, January 30

When you come to your yoga mat and come to be in this special space, you feel the power in multiple ways: clarity, peace, confidence, energy, connection, positivity, and so on.

We all understand the magic of the mat. This class was dedicated to spreading this healing power to others via the Give Back Yoga Foundation. Their mat grants program provides free mats and supplies to yoga teachers to support outreach programs aimed towards disadvantaged people who can benefit most from all yoga has to offer, focusing on:

  • Accessibility: Offering yoga to individuals who might otherwise never have the opportunity to practice.

  • Equity: Challenging inequities and expanding access to health promoting practices, especially in communities that have faced systemic oppression.

  • Health:  Sharing the transformational benefits of yoga with populations that face physical and mental illness.
